PLC open certifies Smart Software Solutions
March 23, 2009 - PLCopen handed out new certificates for Motion Control Compliance (part 1 and 2) to 3S – Smart Software Solutions GmbH in Germany. The certifications are provided for their Motion functionality integrated in the CoDeSys programming and runtime system – that is CoDeSys SoftMotion. A tool kit integrated in the wide spread IEC 61131-3 Programming system supplies the desired motion functionality. This tool kit makes use of the functions of the IEC 61131-3 programming languages and implements the PLCopen motion function blocks for single and multi axes motion control. The axes are made available to the user in form of an abstract data structure which is bus- and manufacturer-independent. The actual connection to the field bus takes place via a driver interface. The drives are configured in the CoDeSys device configuration in the project tree.
